The National Trust for Scotland’s Head of Archaeology, Derek Alexander, talks about what recent archaeological investigation and surveys can tell us about the people who once made their homes in Glencoe, before the Massacre of 1692 and the era of Highland Clearances transformed life in the glen. He’ll also share exciting plans to re-create, outside our visitor centre, one of the 17th-century turf-built dwellings he has been excavating in the heart of Glencoe. All proceeds from this event will go towards uncovering the glen’s history. The café will stay open until the start of the event.
